COACHES
COACHES NEEDED!
Volunteer to help the children by becoming a coach. Clinics for new coaches, "F" Certificate is available. All coaches and assistant coaches must be registered with CYSC. If interested or have any questions, please contact CYSC Coach Coordinator.
All coaches are required to have an "F" coaching license before the 2nd year (optional for Assistant Coaches). Coach clinics for "E" (intermediate) license and "GK" (goal keeper) license are available. ** Click here for clinic schedules **
League rules state that in addition to the coach, there must be another adult present at all team practices.
Typically a team has the following:
Assistant Coach
- Help with practice drills and during games.
Team Parent
-Coordinates a banner for the team with player names
-Organizes snack schedule for end of all games
- Organizes the end-of-season party, including collecting money for purchasing participation awards
(trophies, medals, plaques, shirts, etc.)
**The more assistance you have, the easier and more enjoyable the season will be.**
Practice
1. Please be prompt arriving and departing, as the fields are used by many teams
2. Player Yellow forms must be with you at practice for emergency information.
3. Equipment- every player must have shin-guards at practice.
-Players should have water breaks (be especially aware of hot/warm weather)
-Coaches should have some cones and extra balls.
4. Goals at Wiemar are removable and consist of 3 pieces each, located at each end of the field-by the fence
behind the backstop and next to the garden. If the goals are setup for practice, they must be taken down and
put back by the fence at the end of practice.

Games
The following 5 items are required for a game:
1. Sportsmanship
-This is recreational soccer. There are no 1st, 2nd, or 3rd places. Always be encouraging, and do not
confront the referees or other coaches.
-The coach is responsible for the behavior of his team's spectators and as specified by the rules, can
be penalized for their behavior.
2. Game Card
-The home team coach is responsible for providing the game card.
-Bring it with your team information filled in and give it to the visiting team as soon as possible, so they
too can fill in their team information.
3. Player Cards
- Every player must have a Player card to participate in the game.
- They are given to the referee at the beginning of the game. Be sure to get the cards back at the end of
the game.
4. Game Ball
- Home team provides the game ball. Be sure to get the ball back at the end of the game.
5. Yellow Forms
- Player Yellow Forms (medical release) must be with you for emergency information.
Rain-outs
- Rain is a concern because of potential damage to the fields.
- When there is a question regarding the use of a Colfax field, coaches will be notified by the Coach Coordinator or President.
- When a game is rained out, the Home Team coach is responsible for calling the visiting team coach- remember
both teams will have players to call in a timely manner.
